PathForward Receives $1.3M Congressional Appropriation for Purchase of Arlington Apartment Building
Thanks to a federal government appropriation, spearheaded by Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA), PathForward announced today that it will purchase Sibert House, an eight-unit property that serves chronically homeless individuals who have faced significant housing barriers.
PathForward President and CEO Betsy Frantz stated, “Handing the keys to newly housed clients is just the first step to stability and dignity for them. To remain housed, they require individualized services including regular medical and mental healthcare and ongoing case management. Thank you to Rep. Don Beyer and his staff for leading this game-changing appropriation through the complex federal approval process.”
“The $1,342,704 in federal funding I secured for PathForward will support the purchase of the Sibert House, an apartment building in the Westover neighborhood of Arlington County serving unhoused individuals who have struggled to obtain and remain in permanent housing,” said Congressman Beyer. “Sibert House stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for people who have suffered from chronic homelessness. Every person deserves a dignified and safe place to call home, and this funding will be critical in supporting PathForward’s efforts to continue providing these life-changing services in our community. I thank PathForward for their support in identifying and developing this project request, and their work to uplift the most vulnerable among us.”
