CEO Betsy Frantz Wins Humanitarian Award
ARLINGTON, VA – 10/27/23 —PathForward President & CEO Betsy Frantz, received the 2023 Emily DiCicco Humanitarian Award on Thursday, October 26 from the Shirlington Employment and Education Center (SEEC). The award, named for a long-time Board Member, is awarded annually to individuals and organizations that support SEEC’s Clients.
“I’m deeply honored to be receiving this award on behalf of PathForward.” Ms. Frantz said. “I’m thankful to SEEC for recognizing the work that we do every day to support our unsheltered neighbors in Arlington.”
The presentation to PathForward and Ms. Frantz, who has led the organization since February 2020, was held at SEEC’s 23rd Anniversary event in their offices located at the Arlington Mill Community Center. Ms. Frantz was chosen for leading her organization’s efforts to provide life-saving services across a broad constellation of services that includes street outreach, medical services, housing and eviction prevention programs, as well as a shelter and day program. PathForward currently provides case management services to housed clients in over 100 scattered apartments across Arlington, and provides over 40,000 meals annually through its shelter, day, and outreach programs.
SEEC was established in 2000 to help day laborers find employment, matching them with employers who need temporary labor. Andres Tobar, Executive Director of SEEC, shared that the Emily DiCicco Humanitarian Award is presented to leaders and organizations who go above and beyond to assist SEEC clients. Mr. Tobar shared that whenever SEEC clients are in need and find themselves without housing, he is assured that he can call PathForward to provide emergency shelter and case management.
