Jen Bakos

Jen Bakos has been volunteering with PathForward for the last several years; she served on the inaugural No Place Like Home committee and has loved working with the organization ever since. Jen also volunteers with other local social safety net nonprofits including Food For Neighbors, Arlington Free Clinic, and Jubilee Housing. In addition, she is an active volunteer in her Arlington community, where she has lived most of her adult life. She served as a team rep for the Overlee swim team for many years and remains an engaged volunteer on the team. Next year she will serve as head of the Yorktown cross country/indoor/outdoor track booster club. The goal is to stay so busy she is completely distracted from the fact that her oldest kiddo is going away to college.

Back in the day, Jen studied English and marketing at the College of William & Mary. Today, she fills the 9-5(ish!) with her own small but mighty freelance marketing practice, where she develops strategy, brand messaging, proposals, and graphics for a range of clients. After hours, her time is devoted to her teenagers, Molly and Sebastian, her husband, Tim, her dogs Milo and Peet (who can be heard in the background of almost any conference call), and her wonderful friends and neighbors. Her other passions include good books, the Chicago Cubs, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and tacos.
